BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN

Director Kabir Khan has done it again... A must watch movie where there are no out of the world actions scenes which we normally see in a Salman Khan movie. Emotional quotient takes precedence in the story. A Pakistani girl who cannot speak, lost in India, meets Pawan aka Bajrangi. How Bajrani gets to know her home town and journey back to her home and in process becomes "Bajrangi Bhaijan" is the story.

Humanitarian feelings on both sides of the border have been nicely depicted. Situational comic scenes at required moments in the movie make it easy. Weak link being Salman-Kareena love angle. Good performances by Salman (probably one of his best), Nawazuddin (this guy can carry off any role with ease) and the girl Harshali Malhotra. Technically good quality and apt to the story - be it photography, locations, screenplay etc.

Kabir Khan seems to be on a mission to unite India and Pakistan. (We should appreciate his attempts). His last movie (Ek Tha Tiger) had RAW and ISI agents fall in love. This one is cross border friendship and common emotional bonding.

Box office collections should not be a benchmark to measure this movie. As it may be affected by the overwhelming success of the other BB (BaahuBali)...

బాహుబలీ (BAAHUBALI - THE BEGINNING)

S S Rajamouli has converted childhood comics 'Amar Chitra Katha' into celluloid. The biggest film ever made in India lived upto its expectations visually... The story is not of any historical relevance but a fantasy just like our comics. The fist half is a bit slow, but the 2nd half is very gripping and fast moving and full of visual treat.

The VFX effects are of superior quality and never seen before in Indian Cinema. Technically the movie is brilliant. The screenplay could have been bit better in the 1st half... The movie is incomplete... its actually a 2 part movie and this is the beginning (the title also says so). The 2nd part should be more interesting and better treat visually...

All in all its S S Rajamauli at its best. The guy who made movies like Magadheera, Eega (Makhkhi), Vikramarkudu (copied as Rowdy Rathore) and many more good films in Telugu.

Indian Cinema can now dare making movies in Hollywood style...
